Thomas S. Balames
Tom has been the Managing Member of Accelerated Assets, LLC (“AA") since its inception in January, 2000 and is responsible for the identification and acquisition of consumer based asset backed receivable portfolios.
Prior to his involvement in Accelerated Assets, Mr. Balames was involved in various partnerships with two of the current AA partners dating back to November, 1993 that purchased asset backed receivables secured by developed vacant land and manufactured housing.
The current market focus for AA is the purchase of asset-backed portfolios, with recourse, from qualified portfolio holders interested in acquiring liquidity without going through the more traditional channels required by larger portfolio purchasers or lenders.
Additionally, Tom also serves as President/CEO of Americor Financial Services, a mortgage banking company he started in 1986 in Birmingham, Michigan that originates single family residential home loans.
H. John Greeniaus
John Greeniaus served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Nabisco Inc. from 1987 through 1992 and as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer until his retirement in December 1997.
John had a distinguished career in marketing and management that began in 1966 with Procter & Gamble in Canada. In 1977, after Canadian assignments with J. Walter Thompson and PepsiCo, he joined Standard Brands, a Nabisco predecessor. John held several marketing and general management positions in Canada, the U.S., and Europe before becoming head of Nabisco in 1987.
In the corporate sector, John serves as a Director of two companies: The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. and Primedia, Inc.
In the not-for-profit sector, John serves as Chairman of The Seeing Eye, North America's largest guide dog school for the blind and is a lifetime Trustee of Public Television's Channel 13 (WNET) in New York.
Richard J. Kostyra
In 1959, Richard Kostyra joined the J. Walter Thompson Company as a clerk in their Toronto office mailroom, beginning what would become a 33-year career with the company. From the mailroom, Richard successfully and progressively advanced through the ranks to the position of National Media Director in 1973.
Subsequently, from 1976 to 1979, Richard served as General Manager of JWT, Montreal, and in May 1980, he was transferred to New York where he assumed the position of Senior Vice President, Media.
In March 1985, Richard ’s responsibilities were expanded to include all planning and buying for JWT’s eight USA offices. A year later he was promoted to Executive Vice President, Director of U.S. Media Services and became a member of the J. Walter Thompson USA Board of Directors.
In December 1992, Richard left JWT to open Media First International, Inc. Ten years later, he sold the company to The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc.
Peter Mills
Peter Mills emigrated from his native Australia to Canada in 1959 and has been involved in the advertising and marketing services business since that time. He began his career as a copywriter at the T. Eaton Co. in Toronto, Canada in 1960. Peter subsequently joined the J. Walter Advertising Company and progressed through the ranks to ultimately manage the Montreal office.
More recently he served as President & Chief Operating Officer of BBDO North America from 1990 to 1993 and as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Ross Roy Communications from 1993 to 1997.
Peter played a pivotal role in managing the sale of Ross Roy Communication to the Omnicom Group, Inc. (NYSE:OMC) and, subsequently, worked in a consultative role to Omnicom for five years after the sale.
While involved in advertising, Peter was responsible for the advertising and marketing campaigns for various clients including: Chrysler, Ford, PepsiCo, and Apple Computer, as well as many others.
